Good courses, minor issue

I bought the GCSE Mathematics course. The sign-up was easy enough, and I got access to everything quickly. The course content was clear, and I felt like I was learning at a good pace. Delivery was instant since it's all online. Customer service was responsive when I had a billing question. My only real gripe was that some of the links to external resources in the course material were a bit outdated, but it wasn't a huge deal. Value for money seems fair given the tutor support included.

A-Level Biology Experience

I signed up for the A-Level Biology course a few months back. The ordering process was straightforward on their site; I just picked the course and checked out. Delivery of the course materials was digital, obviously, and they were accessible right away through the student portal. I did have a question about a specific topic a few weeks in, and the tutor support was pretty good. I emailed my tutor, and they got back to me within a day with a clear explanation. The course content itself was well-structured and easy to follow, making it simple to track my progress. The practice questions were helpful for understanding the format of the actual exam. Overall, a solid platform for distance learning.

Decent value, good deal

I got the IGCSE Combined Science course during a seasonal sale. The discount was applied automatically, which was nice. I felt it was a good price for what I got, especially with the payment plan option. The study materials were good for the money.

thinking about getting a few A-levels for a career change. how long do you actually get to finish a course once you enroll?

R Rosa 2 months ago
Most courses give you like a year or two, depending on the subject. They're pretty flexible though, you can usually extend if you need to for a small fee. I took my time with Biology and it wasn't an issue.

It's usually a pretty generous timeframe. I think for my GCSE maths it was 12 months, but I finished it way sooner. They're designed for self-paced study so you don't feel rushed.

is the tutor support actually useful or is it just like, generic FAQs? wanna know if it's worth it for help with tricky concepts.

F Faith Brooks 2 months ago
Nah, it's proper tutor support. You get a dedicated person who knows the subject. I had questions on a few physics problems and my tutor walked me through them. It's not just canned responses.

Yeah, they're pretty good. Not like an instant reply service, but they get back to you and explain things properly. Much better than trying to figure stuff out alone.

Can I pay for a course in bits? Or do you have to drop the whole amount upfront?

P Phil 2 months ago
They totally have installment plans! I paid for my GCSE Maths over a few months. Made it way more manageable.

Yeah, pretty sure you can pay monthly. It's one of their options at checkout, or at least it was when I signed up last fall.

do these guys ever do Black Friday sales? trying to get a couple of courses but would rather wait if there's a big discount coming.

R Renee P. 2 months ago
Oh yeah, they definitely do! I got my Psychology A-Level during their Black Friday sale last year. Saved a good chunk of change. Worth waiting for if you can.

They usually have some kind of deal around that time, or Boxing Day. Sometimes the multi-course bundles are a better deal overall though, even without a specific sale code.

trying to decide between CloudLearn and Open Study College. anyone used both or have strong opinions? particularly for A-Level Chemistry.

P Phil Patel 2 months ago
I looked at both for my daughter's A-levels. CloudLearn felt a bit more structured and the online portal was easier to navigate. Open Study College seemed a bit more basic visually, but heard good things about their tutors too. For Chemistry specifically, I'd say CloudLearn's resources were really comprehensive.

CloudLearn's exam booking service was a lifesaver. Never used Open Study College but heard mixed things about finding exam centers on your own. Might be worth considering if that's important to you.
